Understanding the AI Act.
We’ll share with you a short overview of the AI Act; it’s purpose, scope and the key provisions. We’ll also explore how it complements the GDPR.
The Role of the DPO under GDPR.
Being a DPO comes with a lot of responsibilities and challenges. We’ll discuss some of the challenges related to AI that you may come to face as DPO and how to overcome them.
Intersection of the AI Act and GDPR.
We’ll make a comparison between some of the AI Act requirements and the GDPR Principles (e.g. DPIA vs. AI Conformity Assessment, how to implement AI tools, accuracy vs. big data sets, the right to be forgotten in machine learning etc.)
Use Cases
To make it all a bit more tangible, Enzo will share some real life use cases that describe the problem, and the role the DPO has to play in mitigating privacy risks. (think of AI in HR, in LLMs or in automated decision making)
Conclusion and Q&A
Voordat een AI-systeem met een hoog risico op de markt kan worden gebracht, moet een conformiteitsbeoordeling (CA) worden uitgevoerd. Daarnaast wordt in de AIA de GDPR expliciet genoemd als het gaat om de verwerking van persoonsgegevens en wanneer het uitvoeren van een Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) vereist is.
Dit betekent dat er een overlap zal zijn tussen deze twee beoordelingen, aangezien een AI-systeem met een hoog risico bijna automatisch ook een verwerking met een hoog risico onder de GDPR zal omvatten. Maar hoe kunnen deze twee tools met elkaar worden vergeleken? Lees het in deze blogpost.
