Digital Law Desk.
Specialised legal expertise, precisely when you need it.
Running a business today means dealing with contracts and legal challenges, often all at once. But bringing on an additional full-time lawyer is a significant step, and ad hoc advice is often slow and unpredictable.
The Digital Law Desk gives you direct access to qualified legal professionals, without waiting times or unexpected invoices.
Trusted organisation who take digital law seriously
You’re in good company.

What is the Digital Law Desk?
The Digital Law Desk is a flexible, on-demand legal helpdesk for organisations that need specialised legal support in data, cybersecurity, AI and technology, without the cost and complexity of a permanent or additional in-house lawyer or external counsel.
Based on an hour package with one clear, uniform (blended) hourly rate, we deliver tailored legal support, aligned with your specific situation, needs and context.
Think of it as your legal team, ready to get started straight away.
Who is the Digital Law Desk for?
The Digital Law Desk is built for organisations that:
- have fluctuating legal needs, with busy periods followed by quieter stretches
- lack the budget for a full-time lawyer, but cannot operate without expert support
- need rapid, specialised assistance in digital law, whether that means legal advice, drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, or resolving disputes
- strive for consistent, reliable quality, without the unpredictability of rotating external advisors
- want cost predictability, without being tied to fixed structures or a standing subscription
- are looking for a trusted point of contact who understands their business and its specific context inside out
Whether you are a business leader juggling many responsibilities, or an in-house lawyer looking for support outside your core expertise or a second pair of eyes, the Digital Law Desk is efficient and dependable.
What can you come to us for?
Data:
Data is subject to a growing body of regulation, including the Data Act and the Data Governance Act. We assist with data-sharing agreements, the protection of trade secrets, and the rules around interoperability.
Cybersecurity:
Legal resilience starts with the right contracts and a clear understanding of your obligations. We advise on NIS2, DORA and the Cyber Resilience Act, support you with supplier contracts, and stand by you before, during and after a cyber incident.
Artificial intelligence:
From the EU AI Act to contractual arrangements around algorithms and generative AI. We help you build a legally sound AI policy and advise on intellectual property and liability in AI implementations.
Technology and digital business:
IT contracts, SaaS and cloud agreements, software development, licences and SLAs. As well as the legal side of your digital business: general terms and conditions, consumer law, cookie policies, eIDAS, digital accessibility and the Digital Services Act for platforms and intermediaries.
How does the Digital Law Desk work?
01 - Intake interview and needs analysis
We start by building a thorough understanding of your legal needs, priorities and context. This allows us to get to know your organisation and assess whether there is a good fit. We also agree on the practical arrangements for the Desk and propose an hour package that suits your organisation’s needs.
02 - Submit your request
When a legal question or task arises, you contact the Desk. Our team assesses the complexity and assigns the right legal professional, senior or junior, depending on what the situation calls for.
03 - We get to work
Your consultant handles the task: drafting a contract, reviewing an agreement, preparing legal advice, or supporting a negotiation. Complex questions are handled in collaboration with our senior consultants, who bear final responsibility for the quality of our work and your satisfaction.
04 - Delivery with full transparency
You receive the finished result, together with a clear update on your remaining hour balance, so you are never caught off guard.
05 - Proactive follow-up
We actively monitor your hour usage throughout the year. If your balance runs low, we flag it in good time and help you decide whether to top up based on your actual needs.
Why choose CRANIUM?
We are not a law firm. We are better equipped for the way you work today.
CRANIUM sits at the intersection of law, technology and business. Our legal professionals are trained internally through the CRANIUM Academy, where they develop a combination of legal expertise and a thorough understanding of digital processes, data and compliance. That means we do not just advise in theory; we also support you in translating that advice into practice.
Predictable costs. No hidden fees.
Our hour packages come with fixed, guaranteed hourly rates for the duration of your package. You always know what you are spending, and we keep you proactively informed of your remaining balance, on request as well.
Flexibility without compromise.
Whether you need five hours this month and none the next, or intensive support during a busy period, the Digital Law Desk adapts to you. This formula works on an annual basis.
One rate. The right profile.
You work with one fixed hourly rate, regardless of who handles your question. We make sure the right professional, junior or senior, takes on the work based on what your situation requires.
Frequently Asked Questions.
What if my hours are not used up before they expire?
We monitor your balance proactively throughout the year. Well before the expiry date, we get in touch to help you identify any outstanding legal needs and make the most of your remaining hours.
How do I know how many hours I have left?
With every deliverable we send, we include a clear update on your remaining balance. You can also request a status overview at any time.
Is the helpdesk only available by e-mail?
The helpdesk is available Monday to Friday by e-mail. For urgent matters, we are also reachable by phone via a dedicated number.
What if my package runs out mid-assignment?
Your consultant monitors usage closely. If the hours are running short before a task is complete, we get in touch promptly and offer two options: top up your package, or continue on a time-and-materials basis at our standard hourly rate.
Can I get a larger discount?
The rate depends on the size of your package. Larger packages carry a more advantageous rate. If your needs require a higher volume, we are happy to discuss a tailored arrangement.
Is a Service Level Agreement included?
Standard packages do not include a Service Level Agreement. If you require guaranteed response times or specific delivery commitments, a bespoke SLA can be arranged.
