Why a DPO Coach?
Being a Data Protection Officer can be challenging. It may be difficult to keep up with rapidly changing technological and legal developments, while also handling a wide range of responsibilities. Our DPO Coach provides personalised, one-on-one guidance to help DPOs excel in their roles. We provide strategic advice on their specific privacy challenges, serve as a trusted sounding board for ideas and concerns, and offer practical guidance for day-to-day tasks.
What is a
DPO Coach?
As a DPO, you are at the core of your organisation, balancing many obligations such as monitoring internal changes, reporting to C-level executives, and providing expert advice, all while staying up to date on external legal developments.
Whether you are a seasoned DPO, starting out, or carrying on the role alongside other obligations… Wouldn’t it be great to have a sparring partner that knows your challenges?
A CRANIUM DPO coach is someone with ample experience in the field. Our coaches have been (and still are) DPOs at multiple organisations, across different sectors. This gives them the ability to coach and guide other people efficiently.

What can you expect from a DPO Coach?
- Intake: a kick-off meeting to define the DPOs challenges and time needed for the coaching. Depending on the need, we’ll start with one-on-one coaching sessions. These will almost always include supporting the DPO with their visibility within the organisation, and getting to know all key-stakeholders for each department.
- Recurring sessions: Our coach will plan recurring sessions with the DPO to follow-up on progress and offer guidance where needed. We’ll also look at your organisation’s data protection maturity. This way we can offer advice on priority management.
As a result, your organisation will gain a confident and knowledgeable in-house Data Protection officer.
CRANIUM is recognised by the Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship agency (VLAIO) as a service provider.

Frequently Asked Questions.
Who can benefit from a DPO coach?
DPO coaching is beneficial for professionals at all stages of their career. Whether you’re a seasoned DPO looking for fresh perspectives, new to the role and seeking guidance, or balancing DPO responsibilities with another position, our coaching service can be tailored to meet your specific needs.
How often do I meet with my DPO Coach?
The frequency of meetings is determined during the initial intake conversation. We personalise our services to each client’s requirements. We operate on a fixed-rate basis, allowing you to schedule as few or as many coaching hours as needed to support your professional growth and fit your budget.
What specific areas can a DPO Coach help me with?
A DPO coach can provide guidance across the full spectrum of DPO responsibilities. This includes getting started on specific Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), enhancing internal visibility, raising privacy awareness within the organisation, and strategising on privacy governance. It’s important to note that while our coaches offer expert advice and serve as sparring partners, they do not take over the work. Their role is to empower the DPO to excel in their position.
Can a DPO Coach help me if I'm new to the role?
Absolutely! DPO coaching is especially valuable for those new to the role. Our coaches can help you tackle the initial challenges, understand your responsibilities, and develop strategies to get started. If you require additional support beyond coaching, we also offer complementary services to ensure you have all the resources needed to thrive in your new position.
